By We: Tuesday, 1st May we left our parking lot in the garden oft he Cosmos hotel in Moscow. Although I had asked the gatekeeper, somehow we didnt know exactly how we could leave and how we could pay; because the whole arrangement fort he parking was somehow not official and the people at the reception didnt know anything about it. So we simply opened the gate and drove out from the garden into the official parking. When we entered four days ago we had taken a ticket and now one guy pointed into the direction we should drive. There was a barrier with a cashierboot, shaded with dark windows. I simply gave the ticket and the guy sitting in the boot told me the price we had agreed with some other guy the very first day. So it was easy and obviously these things still work the same way as in the good old communist days ;-)
So we went back to the Moscow ringroad and around the northerly part towards the mainroad M7 leading aus to the east. We went on to Vladimir, a city belonging to the „Golden Ring“ because of it’s many churches and the old town‘s gate. Later we went on to Suzdal, another city belonging to the „Golden Ring“. When entering Suzdal we saw a big sign of a Campground. We where surprised to see something like this in Russia, but we followed the directions given on the roadsigns and finaly found the complex, located a bit outside of the town. It seams to be a new hotel- and camping-complex and when we entered the office it all looked a bit unfinished and temporary. The guy told us that it is still not opened but that we could stay in a plot just accross the road. So we went there and found a transporting company’s fenced-in location. The guy came and asked what we wanted and I explained him that we would like to sleep in our car. He pointed to the new camping accross the road and I told him that the guy there has sent us to him. So finaly he agreed that we could stay at his place and we happily spent a good night. Fair weather, slight rain in the evening. 244km.
Sunday, 6.5.2012 was another day
for sightseeing in Kazan. After visiting a museum and after passing the
Kremlin we met Alexandria and had an interesting talk about the live
in Russia in general and in Kazan in particular. It was nice to hear
about her ideas and visions. In the evening we again met with Brigit
and René for a diner in the city. We wish you a good continuation of
your trip and look forward to seeing you again somethimes, somewhere.
